Top Ranked Equity Research Group at Top Investment Bank is looking for a Database Developer/ Support Analyst .
Research Application Support (RAS) is a dedicated application support and service delivery function of the top-ranked Research and Sales departments of this Investment Bank. Distinct from IT Development and IT Production, RAS control and regulate the production environment on behalf of the Research Management team, Analysts\Associates and the Advisory IT development team. Advisory IT is a stream within the overall Equity IT team.
The role is roughly 60% Level 2 support, working on multiple applications used across Equities Research and Sales. Technologies involved in these applications include Sybase and Oracle databases, tomcat/apache, and C# .NET. The remaining 40% of the role will be development, focused on the Sybase and Oracle databases used by Equities Research and the front-end applications that interact with these databases.
Strong Unix skills are required for the support aspect of the role. The candidate must also have experience working as a senior developer on major database development projects, using Sybase and/or Oracle, and experience working on a global team. C# .NET skills are desirable.
Scope and Impact
The team work directly with the line of business systems used by Research & Distribution teams, from data modelling, to document and production creation, through compliance and regulatory checking, and finally to distribution to internal and external clients. RAS provide 2nd line support, while gate keeping production and maintaining responsibility for configuration management.
Individuals will project manage infrastructure initiatives from proposal through implementation, leveraging highly skilled staff to achieve the highest operational efficiency, improving the working environment for the analysts and associates.
* 2+ years experience as a senior developer of major database applications, either in Sybase or Oracle.
* 3+ years providing application support in a UNIX environment from a level 2 perspective.
* 2+ of utilizing SQL in an enterprise environment
